It is very important that you never screw Aluminum parts together dry. They are very likely to weld together if you do and will never come apart.

By all means make sure the parts are very clean. Especially the threads. Before assembling make sure, without fail, that you put some Gun grease or heavy gun oil on the threads. A light smear all over is plenty.
